The Danube is the longest river in the European Union and serves as a vital shipping lane connecting the North Sea to the Black Sea via the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal. It is located in Romania and Ukraine, this is Europe's largest, best-preserved, and second-largest wetland, featuring over 300 bird species. The river flows through or along the borders of 10 nations and passes through Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest, and Belgrade.The Danube provides fresh drinking water to approximately 20 million people.
